About Margaux
Becoming a mother in Amsterdam was a life-changing experience. It opened my eyes to the beauty and challenges of the postpartum period - an intense time of transformation, vulnerability and deep connection. Through my own journey, I discovered the power of support, care, and guidance in those first days and weeks with a newborn.
This realization led me to a new calling. After co-founding Le Village, a community supporting francophone mothers in the Netherlands, I trained as a kraamzorg and spent two years working with families through a maternity care agency.
Now, as an independent maternity nurse, I offer personalised postpartum care, tailored to each family's unique needs. My approach is gentle, attentive, and emotionally aware, creating a nurturing space where new parents can find confidence, rest, and connection with their baby. I believe that postpartum care is not just about practical support, but also holding space for emotions, transitions, and the quiet, beautiful moments of early parenthood.

Background & trainings
-
My journey into postpartum care began in 2021 when I co-founded Le Village, a community supporting francophone mothers in Amsterdam. Over the past years, we have accompanied more than 130 mothers through one-on-one support, workshops, and group events, while building a strong network of over 40 volunteers.

To further my expertise, I trained as a kraamzorg at ROC Amsterdam and worked for 2 years at De Kleine Amsterdammer, where I had the privilege of supporting many families during their first precious weeks with their newborn. Now, as an independent kraamzorg, I bring this experience to provide personalized care, adapted to each family’s needs.
What is "Kraamzorg" ?
Professional post-partum care
In the Netherlands, postpartum care (kraamzorg) is an essential service that support families during the first days after birth. This system, unique to the Netherlands, ensures that new parents receive right after the birth professional guidance through a maternity nurse (kraamverzorgende) at home for the first 8 to 10 days.
What does Kraamzorg include ?
Mother & Baby Care
Monitoring recovery, checking the baby's weight and health, and assisting with feeding.
Education
Teaching essential newborn care skills (bathing, safe sleeping, hygiene, etc.).
Practical Support
Helping with light household tasks so parents can rest.
Emotional Guidance

Every family in the Netherlands has access to kraamzorg, whether you give birth at home or in a hospital. The service is covered by Dutch health insurance, although a small co-payment may apply.
